Welcome to Swedish Family Medicine Residency

A Level III NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Training Program
located in Metropolitan Denver, Colorado

The University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine and Swedish Medical Center are partners in an innovative residency program, focusing on the training and education of outstanding, caring physicians who will practice family medicine in a variety of settings and for the length of their careers. At the Swedish Family Medicine Residency program each resident learns to integrate clinical competence, a professional attitude, and the ability to communicate with patients and peers into a life-long practice style.

Since 1994, we have been proudly focused on innovation in training physicians in the concerns of family medical practice. Using a longitudinal curriculum structure, residents get real life experience with out-patient training a core focus of their first year. A strong partnership with Swedish Medical Center provides the hospital exposure and rotations that complete a well-rounded training program.

Our location in Littleton, Colorado is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Denver and the front range foothills, providing residents with access to the diversity of an urban environment and the great outdoor life for which Colorado is famous.

I’m a year into residency and I still feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this program. The residents, faculty, and staff here are intelligent, caring, funny, hard-working, and generally awesome human beings. I would make the decision to come here again in a heartbeat!
